Finally the first installment in Matthew Herbert's One trilogy has arrived. This first album of three is made solely using himself. The second will be sourced from a single night in a Frankfurt nightclub. The last one, entitled One Pig, will be based on the sounds made by this pig during his life cycle. The album is released on Accidental, the home of many good musicians.
When it comes to techno Peter Van Hoesen get's my vote (one of them at least). He just released an album called Entropic City on his own label Time To Express this month. Have a listen and buy it if you like it! The picture above is taken from this page here. Don't know anything about it really, but I wouldn't mind spending a day or two on that Island... thinking...
Some of Leonardo Finotti's work is very nice! He's a Brazilian photographer/architect who's work has been receiving a great deal of attention in the last years. His impressive list of collaborations includes work for people like Alvaro Siza, Bernardes+Jacobsen, Cecil Balmond, David Adjaye, Isay Weinfeld, Rem Koolhaas, Rafael Iglesia, Johnston Marklee and more. These two pictures where taken from this article/interview here (above is: Solano Benitez - L.A House, Paraguay and below is: Alvaro Siza - Iberê Camargo Museum, Porto Alegre RS, Brazil). For more pictures, check out his web where he posts new work every day.
I'm a big fan his album, Hazyville, that got released on Werk Discs last year. His myspace is kind of strange. Has a lot of black muscle car pictures for some reason...
